The short version: your files, notes and lists stay on your PC. We don't track you, on the website or in the app.

Who we are

NeoPad is a desktop app for Windows and the website neopad.app, run by NeoPad in Spain, which is responsible for the personal data described here (the “controller” under the GDPR). For any privacy question, write to support@neopad.app.

The app

NeoPad works on your computer. Your documents, notes, email lists, screenshots and recordings are never sent to us. NeoPad has no analytics and no tracking.

The app connects to the internet only for these things:

  • Update check. NeoPad asks neopad.app whether a new version exists. Like any web request, this shows us your IP address and the app version.
  • Pro licence. When you activate Pro, your licence key is checked with our licence server.
  • Same MX searches. When you search the NeoPad database, the app downloads the part of the database that holds the mail server you typed. We see that request, not your lists.
  • Domain checks. MX, SPF, DMARC and similar lookups go through your own internet connection's DNS, as any email program's would. They don't go through us.
  • AI services you choose. If you add your own OpenAI or Anthropic key, or use Ollama, the app sends that service the text you ask it to work on, under its own privacy policy. Your keys are stored encrypted on your PC.
  • The offline AI model. If you choose to download it, the app fetches the model file. After that, the AI runs without internet.
  • Sync (when it launches, optional). Your notes are encrypted on your PC before they are sent. Our server stores only encrypted data and can't read your notes or their names.

The website

neopad.app uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. Our web server keeps standard technical logs (IP address, date, page requested, browser) to keep the site secure and working. They are deleted after 30 days.

Buying Pro

When the online store opens, payments are handled by our payment provider, who acts as the seller and handles payment details, taxes and receipts. We receive your email address, your country and what you bought, so we can deliver and support your licence. We never see your card details.

Emails

We only email you about your purchase, your licence, or updates you signed up for. Every update email has an unsubscribe link.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to support@neopad.app. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es), or the authority where you live.

Data sources

The Same MX database is built from public DNS records of domain names. It includes domains from the Majestic Million by Majestic, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 licence. It holds domain names and their mail server names only, no personal data.
